Over a week since Illinois Voted YES on same sex marriage

It has been over a week since the State of Illinois passed same Sex Marriage and here’s whats happened. Happy same sex couples have been proposing and preparing to have fantastic weddings next summer. Children of same sex parents are happy that their Mommies or Daddies will be able to be wed just like everybody else. Aging same sex couples no longer have worries that they will be shutout of their partners life in the worst case scenario of a hospital room death. I could go on and give dozens of more scenarios.

It has been over a week now that the State of Illinois has passed Marriage equality and heres what has not happened…

Number 1, the skies have not opened and the Lord has not rained hellfire down upon us. In other words doesn’t seem like the world is ending anytime soon.

and

Number 2, Pat Quinn has not signed the bill.

The Second thing I point out is because the State of Hawaii also passed same sex marriage and the Governor of the state immediately signed the bill within hours of the state legislators passing it but here in Illinois… not so much.

Governor Pat Quinn is in the process of setting the events that will surround his planned signing on November 20th. Quinn  is going to use the landmark law as an excuse for a VOTE FOR ME rally. This is by the way exactly what we would expect from Pat Quinn.

Quinn has said that it is an important day for Illinois and he is happy to sign and cant wait to get it done. That however is obviously a lie though because if he really cant wait to sign the bill, why hasnt he?

Why not follow the Governor of Hawaii and just sign the bill asap. Why is he instead worrying about printing up enough VOTE FOR QUINN signs to hand to everybody that shows up to celebrate a day that has everything to do with equality and is supposed to have NOTHING to do with Pat Quinn.
