It’s about time we start caring about our children’s education

Here in Springfield we are seeing and hearing the bellowing cries of concerned citizens worrying about our children’s education!

People are outraged that there is a chance our children are possibly being taught an unclear definition of the 2nd amendment and that could make them somehow have a less than adequate educational experience. Over the last couple of days people have been calling school board members, organizing through social media to come up with steps to inform or trying to find things to boycott because they are so concerned with the education of our children.
My question though is where were these people when the school district announced they were severely under budget and were going to let go teachers at an alarming rate to make the difference. Where was the outrage when simple math showed that school class sizes are going to be over the threshold that experts say make for adequate learning environments. Where was the crying and screaming over the fact that the district hasnt been given a tax increase to help its funding since before many of the complainers were born.
I guess sometimes it takes false outrage to make people get whipped into a frenzy and actually want to do something.
Well Congratulations Springfield on joining the party and actually starting to care about our children’s education. let’s see if you can keep it up past one issue!
