Sangamon County's DIRT Team Back in Action

The Sangamon County Sheriff Department's Drug Interdiction Response Team, or Dirt Team, was back in full action Monday.

Sheriff Neil Williamson says the team was last active in 2009, and since then the county has seen an increase in violent crime -- particularly in 2012.

In 2008, The DIRT Team made 343 arrests. It was disbanded in 2009 due to budget cuts.
