A Prominent Woman Politician In Illinois Dies.



A pillar in Illinois politics has passed away.  Dawn Clark Netsch died early this morning.  Netsch was a well-respected politician who helped rewrite the Illinois Constitution in 1970.  She also served as a state senator and as Comptroller.  Netsch ran an unsuccessful bid for governor in 1994, losing out to Republican Jim Edgar.  She was recently diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease.  She was 86 years old.
