Springfield Park District's Appoint Derek Harms as Acting Executive Director.

Springfield Park District Board President Leslie Sgro says the Springfield Park Board has appointed Derek Harms to be the District's Acting Director while it investigates the situation with its current Director Michael Stratton.

Stratton requested to be put on unpaid leave on Wednesday, when the board inquired about several performance issues, including those relating to several checks paid to him from District funds.  The board voted to do so.  The board is investigating with the assistance of legal counsel.  The board will not be releasing any more information since it is a personnel matter.

In a statement released this morning, Sgro says the board has full confidence in Acting Director Harms, who has been the District's Recreation Director.
