Senate Committee Approves Same Sex Marriage

A Senate Committee has approved same sex marriage... and it's chances of passage are greater now than they were during past general assemblies.

The 9-5 vote was party line, and both the House and Senate now enjoy democratic super majorities. While not all Democrats favor same sex marriage, the measure's sponsor is confident she has the 30 required to pass a bill.

The governor has long indicated his support for same sex marriage.
