The University of Illinois’ College of Engineering received a $100 million donation from The Grainger Foundation.
Interim engineering dean, Michael Bragg says he is thankful for The Grainger Foundation’s donation, the largest gift any public university has received this school year.
Bragg says the majority of the money will be endowment money which will help attract the best faculty. It will also be used for scholarships for undergrate studentsand the renovation of the Everitt laboratory on the college of engineering campus. He also says it’s expected to take 4 or 5 years for the funding of the initiative to happen.
