State Senator Sam McCann wants voters to decide if certain guns should be banned in Illinois.
The amendment would have to pass by three-fifths majority in both the House and Senate, then be passed by three-fifths of a majority of voters. McCann says the amendment would put to rest the argument held on guns between Chicago-area politicians and downstate legislators. McCann wants voters to have the final say on gun control in Illinois.
State Senator McCann says law-abiding gun owners feel their Second Amendment rights are being denied, with all the talk of banning certain weapons. He says adding a Constitutional Amendment would protect their rights.
