Private aviation at Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport will be seeing a much needed improvement this year.
The state has awarded the airport $747,000 that will go towards the rehabilitation of the Charlie Ramp. Executive Director Mark Hanna says the renovation will keep the airport from having to do constant repairs to the taxi way, as even a small concrete chip broken loose could be sucked into a jet engine and do millions of dollars of damage.
The project will be completed later this summer, and is among nearly $5 million worth of projects set to be completed this year.
