Davis: Conversation Can't Stop at Limiting Gun Access

Newly sworn in Illinois Congressman Rodney Davis (R-13) says more needs to be done to prevent tragedies like those in Connecticut and Colorado, and it's about more than gun control.

Davis says there needs to be a national discussion on why this is happening.  He says mental health issues as well as the possible impact of things like violent video games need to be looked at -- video games, he says, have changed a lot since he was a kid.

"We had video games where there were fake cartoon bugs with spaceships that would fly down," he says. "I hate to say it, but I walk in to watch my twin boys playing XBox and blood splatters on the screen. These things are realistic. Do they have an impact? I don't know."

The Vice-President's Coalition's plan says there needs to be a continued national discussion on factors such as mental health and the impact of media, and Davis hopes that happens.
