State Senator Says Voters Should Decide Tax Increase Question.

One of central Illinois' newly sworn in state Senators says he wants the voters to decide whether Illinois' temporary income tax increase of 2011 should expire as scheduled.

State Senator Andy Manar says taxes never should have been raised to begin with... and his preference would be to let the voters decide, but wouldn't say he'd vote against making the state's income tax five percent permanently.

It's set to fall to 3.75 percent in 2015 and by 2025 it will fall to 3.25 percent.
