Four Riverton Candidates Kicked Out of Running

Several people eyeing a public office in Riverton have been kicked out of the running for the April election.

Mark Gill, running for village president, will not be allowed to run because his petitions contained duplicate signatures and signatures of unregistered voters -- which means he fell short of the required amount of signatures.

Three village trustee candidates, James Brown, Noah Payne and Ralph Willoughby, were also kicked out of the running... the former two because they said they were running for Clearlake Township, not Riverton, and didn't collect enough signatures. The latter candidate... because he had too many signatures from unregistered voters.
