Gov. Pat Quinn says the legislative lame duck session should be about pensions. A rotunda full of ralliers seems to agree. The action in the General Assembly, though, may suggest otherwise.

During Senate activity this week, pensions were barely discussed, but Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) has said a partial solution which passed his chamber is available for House consideration.

People like Jesus Campuzano say they understand the importance of other issues being discussed by lawmakers but says “This issue is much more important because people are losing their jobs.”

The union coalition, We Are One Illinois, has scheduled a second rally today (Friday) in an effort to get lawmakers to fix pensions. No lawmakers will be in the Capitol to hear them, though, as the Senate has cancelled its session, and the House won’t meet until Sunday.
