Sen. Trotter ending bid for U.S. Congress seat

State Senator Donne Trotter is reportedly ending his bid to replace Jesse Jackson Jr. in Congress.  Sources tell "The Chicago Tribune" Trotter plans to announce he's dropping out of the campaign tomorrow.  He was arrested December 5th for allegedly trying to bring a gun on a plane at O'Hare Airport.  Trotter originally promised to stay in the race, but was unable to get support from Democratic leaders earlier this month.
Still in the race are ex-Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson, former Congressman Mel Reynolds, state Senator Toi Hutchinson, Chicago Alderman Anthony Beale, ex-state Representative Robin Kelly and state Senator-elect Napoleon Harris.  The Democratic primary is in February.
