Lawmakers Continue Thinking About Pensions

Pension reform is still a high priority during next week's lame duck session.  Governor Quinn believes lawmakers can negotiate and pass the deal during the three days each chamber will be in Springfield.

The Senate will be in session from January 2nd through the 4th.  The House will be in from the 6th through the 8th.

The current proposal calls for downstate and suburban school districts to pick up more of their teacher pension costs, plus a retirement age increase and changes in cost of living adjustments.
