Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan will spend 70-million of the state's share of the national mortgage loan settlement to help communities hit hard by foreclosed properties. Madigan announced Friday that the state would accept bids for housing counseling services, as well as proposals from non-profit agencies and commercial developers to help improve neighborhoods affected by the foreclosure crisis. Proposals must be filed with the attorney general's office by Februrary 15th.
