Senate Passes Medical Marijuana Legislation

Illinois State Police have confirmed the death of a State Trooper in an early Monday morning accident on I-55. Trooper Kyle Deatherage of District 18 was conducting a traffic stop just after 9am near mile marker 62, near Lithcfield. Deatherage, assigned as a motorcycle officer, was struck and killed by a semi while conducting the stop. Deatherage had been a member of the State Police since May 2009. The 32 year old trooper is survived by his wife and two young children.
