A lot of money is being spent in the race for a Senate seat representing a part of Springfield and central Illinois. An analysis by the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform shows the race between Democrat Andy Manar and Republican Mike McElroy is the most expensive in the state. Their efforts to represent the 48th Senate District has topped $2 million.
