Brauer: I Support Republican Pledge

State Rep. Rich Brauer (R-Petersburg) says a recent Pledge to Taxpayers by Illinois Republican leadership can only happen if spending is reigned in and there's a changing of the guard.

Brauer says, for starters, fix state pensions... but only if it doesn't shift the burden onto property tax payers or make current employees pay more.

The Pledge outlines a desire to repeal 2010's income tax increase, freeze property tax levies for three years and conduct a series of audits to identify waste and fraud.

Brauer says those things can be accomplished... if the Democrats lose power.
