Carving for the Carillon Takes Place This Weekend.

If you like to carve pumpkins, the Springfield Park District has just the event for you. The Carve for the Carillon will be held today  and tomorrow at Washington Park from 11 to 4, rain or shine. All you need to bring are your carving tool, the pumpkins will be provided. The Park District's Chad Scaife  says the only catch is that you won't be taking the pumpkin home with you.  Scaife says they'll take  the carved pumpkins and keep them in a refrigerated truck so they can put them on display next weekend's event. The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, where your carved creations will be shown off along with food, scary music, and a light and sound show, is next weekend, October 19 & 20th.
