Litchfield Unemployment Office to Close

The state is shutting down the unemployment office in Litchfield this Friday.  Anyone applying for unemployment benefits in that area will have to do so online.

Officials with the Illinois Department of Employment Security say they could lose about 20-percent of its federal funding thanks to an improved jobs outlook in the state.  An office in Freeport is also scheduled to close by the end of the year.
