CICBC Plans Large, Expensive Move

The Central Illinois Community Blood Center is planning a $10 million move and expansion.

David Parsons, president of the southern division of the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, says the new building will be located on a 4.5 acre plot in the Park South TIF district -- which formerly housed a Fiatallis complex.

It would use $1.9 million TIF dollars, but approval of the project must move quickly as the Park South TIF is slated to expire in November.

Parsons says the center's laboratory and offices would move to the new complex, but the donor center would remain at 7th and Allen. That building, too, will eventually be replaced.
