Springfield School Board Approves Budget with Deficit.

On a 5 to 2 vote, District 186 passed its budget for the current school year, but not without some harsh words for the superintendent. The two no votes came from board members Lisa Funderberg and Candice Mueller, both accusing Walter Milton of a lack of leadership and giving misleading information. Superintendent Walter Milton took exception to the accusations saying the comments were a sign of malice intent and politically motivated.  Milton says the budget allows the district to give the students a high quality education while dealing with large budget cuts.
