CWLP Water Restrictions Remain in Effect

The remnants of Hurricane Isaac weren't enough to lift water restrictions on City Water Light and Power customers.

CWLP Water Division Director Tom Skelly says the Lake Springfield water basin got anywhere from 2.5 to 4.5 inches of rain over the weekend, but it didn't raise lake levels enough to rescind the Stage 3 restrictions currently in place.

Skelly says the Lake has risen nearly six inches since Friday, which was below expectations, but Skelly says a lot of the rain soaked into the soil and there wasn't as much runoff as expected.
