Some residents near Taylorville plane crash still not back in their homes

Residents in Taylorville are trying to get back to normal after a tragic plane crash Saturday that claimed the life of the pilot.

30-year-old Brandon Sparrow from Augusta, IL was piloting the skydiving plane when something went wrong. All 12 skydivers were able to get out before the aircraft went down in a backyard in the 800 block of West Rich Street in Taylorville.

Police Chief Dave Herpstreith says there are still several families who are displaced after their homes suffered blown-out windows. They are waiting for word from the NTSB on when they can have their homes inspected for stuctural damage. Herpstreith says it appears there was no direct collision with any structures in the area. Most damage occurred from the force of the impact and from debris.

Herpstreith says the NTSB is now investigating to find out what caused the plane to go down. The pilot is being called a hero for tyring to avoid people and structures and going down with the plane.
