A twin engine plane carrying thirteen people crashed into a Taylorville neighborhood Saturday, killing the pilot.
The plane crashed into Jerry Dobyns backyard...
"30 more feet and it would have been in my bedroom on top of me," recalls Dobyns.
Windows shattered and limbs were stripped from trees in his yard as he tried to figure out what happened. He saw a gaping hole, debris and says he could taste the fuel.
"My daughter, she wanted to run over there... 'maybe somebody needs help!' I told her no, ain't nobody gonna need help over there. So we had to get away because I can still taste that fuel."
The pilot, who's not been identified, was the lone fatality -- police say there were twelve skydivers on board, who parachuted to safety. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have assumed the investigation, and it could be months before they figure out what happened.
