Christian County crash claims second life



A Friday crash involving a van and a semi has claimed a second life. Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards said 14 year old Lucky Hamilton, of Assumption, died Saturday at Memorial hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the van, 40 year old Daniel Kennell of Taylorville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two vehicles collided at an intersection in rural Christian County. The van was transporting two staff members and four students of Kemmerer Village, a Presbyterian child care organization for at risk youth in Assumption. The accident remains under investigation.
