The race for a seat in the new 50th Senate District apparently won't include Bob Gray.
He'd hoped to run against Republican state Senator Sam McCann of Carlinville, but says he expects to be removed from the race due to a lack of needed signatures. Gray planned to run as an independent candidate. There is no Democrat on the ballot.
