CWLP Breaks Water Usage Record... Again

Springfield water customers keep setting records. This week CWLP reported 40.31 million gallons were produced Wednesday. That breaks last week's record by roughly 500,000 gallons.

Water Division Director Tom Skelly says the utility is targeting outdoor watering, but says water conservation in other areas will also help.

"When you're doing laundry, do full loads. When you're washing dishes, do full loads," says Skelly. "So if you don't have to do it one day, save up two days of dishes, or three days and do it with a full load."

Skelly says CWLP serves water customers in other municipalities, such as Sherman, Williamsville and the Sugar Creek Water District -- and he wants to make sure they're conserving as well.
