Capital Area Home Sales, Prices Up



Sales for single-family homes and the median home sale price both increased in the Capital Area during June, according to the Capital Area Association of Realtors (CAAR). 

For the month of June 2012, the median home sale price was $124,800, an increase of 14.0 percent over the June 2011 price.  The year-to-date median sale price through June of 2012 was 115,000, reflecting an increase of 6.5 percent over the price during the same period in 2011.

According to CAAR, the typical home in June was on the market 95 days before being sold as compared to 106 days in June of last year.
