Blood center urges donors to give blood ahead of July 4th

With the upcoming Independence Day holiday, appointment bookings at Central Illinois Community Blood Center (CICBC) are significantly below average for the next two weeks.

Without new appointments for donation, the amount of blood products available for transfusion could dip below the amount needed for patient care at local hospitals. Prospective donors are asked to contact CICBC to make an appointment for donation at the Donor Center or a mobile blood drive.

For information, please call (217) 753-1530 (toll-free (866) GIVE-BLD) or visit www.cicbc.org.
