Chamber hires new president & CEO

The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce has announced a new permanent president and CEO. Steward Sandstrom of Kalamazoo, Michigan will be taking the reins locally in late July.

Sandstrom says he has a list of items he wants to immerse himself in once he gets here. Sandstrom when he moves here, his mission will be to concentrate on understanding the work of the Chamber. He mentioned the economic development work of the Q5, about jobs, wealth, growth strategies, and sustainability.

He says he has already enjoyed a "horseshoe", had a "maidrite", and has been to the Presidential museum. He jokes that someone needs to invent an exercise program to go along with the horseshoe - that would be good for economic sustainability.
