“Newsroom” star Jeff Daniels had little time to celebrate his Emmy win on Sunday because he had to be in Atlanta the next day to begin filming the follow-up to the 1994 buddy comedy “Dumb and Dumber.”

Daniels was the surprise winner for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, beating out competition from strong contenders like Jon Hamm, Bryan Cranston, Kevin Spacey, Damian Lewis and Hugh Bonneville.

Daniels is reprising his role as hapless Harry Dunne in the follow-up to the hit comedy, and he promises fans his onscreen reunion with his co-star Jim Carrey will be worth the wait, even though he faces a shock to the system after playing cerebral newsman Will McAvoy on “The Newsroom.”

“The intellectual free fall from Will McAvoy down to Harry Dunne is going to be jarring,” Daniels said. “There are some things that we’re going to do in ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ that make the toilet scene (in the first film) seem lame. (It) pales in comparison and I can’t divulge what, but just that they’ve topped it. They best thing about it? I get to work with a comedic genius.”

Meanwhile co-star Jim Carrey has opted to not cover up his famous chipped tooth, which he displayed in the first “Dumb and Dumber” comedy, now he’s back on set in Georgia for the film’s sequel – in order to amuse fans.

Nearly 20 years after the cult comedy classic was released, Carrey and Daniels are returning to the roles of lovable yet daft best friends.

And Carrey is now proudly sporting his character Lloyd Christmas’ prominent chipped front tooth again.

During an recently taped interview with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, he explained that while he could have opted to cover up his dental deficiency in public and on TV, it’s much more fun to show it off.

He revealed, “I just decided there’s a moment in your life when you just gotta let your ‘Lloyd’ hang out. “I have a bonding on it most of the time and now I don’t. But I’ve decided to just live with it – it’s fun. Because wherever I go, people laugh in my face and ask me to open beers for them and stuff. It’s really kind of a blast.”
