Turmoil Continues in Kincaid

The village of Kincaid fired its police chief but its president continues to cling to power despite another court appearance on various charges Friday.

Monday night, Doug Thomas says he has done nothing wrong.  Kincaid resident Michael Lawerence says enough is enough.

“What does it take? What can we do? People gathering together.  Our assistant State’s Attorney said I need to talk to David Fines (village attorney) and that is why a petition got put together,” according to Lawrence.

Police Chief Richard Adams is accused of using village employees and resources to fix up his home.

Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettlekamp says his department is providing law enforcement for the small village.  There is no indication yet on when a new police chief will be named.

Thomas says he will not step down even thought he is facing drug charges along with counts of violating orders of protection from an ex-boyfriend.
