Here’s something a little positive for people who get pulled over: most of them will no longer have to surrender their driver’s license as bond pending the outcome of their charges.

“Beginning on Jan. 1, 2015, motorists will no longer be required to hand over their driver’s license … (for offenses such as) speeding,” said Secretary of State Jesse White. “In this way, it will allow an individual, if they have to catch a plane or if they want to rent a car, they’ll have their driver’s license on their person.”

White says he supports the new law, seeing as how there are so many places where not having identification can hinder you.
