Lawmakers held a moment of silence after State Rep. Rich Brauer (R-Petersburg) paid tribute on the floor of the Illinois House.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the house, please pay attention.  We had longtime radio broadcaster pass away this morning” Brauer read into the record.  “We are going to miss Bob.  He was a dear friend of mine and a dear friend of many of us.”

Lawmakers then observed a moment of silence.

Legendary central Illinois broadcaster Bob Murray has passed away after a battle with brain cancer.  Murray hosted the WTAX Morning Newswatch starting in 2003 until shortly after this past Thanksgiving. He was 66.
