Springfield Police are looking for help finding those responsible for a recent rash of circulating counterfeit money.

Sangamon and Menard County Crimestoppers says a heavy black woman presented the fake bills to cashiers at two Springfield Dollar General Stores last week while two other people created distractions. They fled in a maroon four door Oldsmobile in each instance.

Anyone with anonymous information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a $1,000 reward. Call Sangamon and Menard County Crimestoppers at 788-8427, head online or text your tips. Type TIP 672 plus a message and send to CRIMES.

Rauner Calls State Budget “Stunningly Bad,” Provides No Solution

Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate businessman Bruce Rauner participates in a Republican gubernatorial candidate debate Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, in Springfield, Ill. The four Republican gubernatorial candidates said that they’ll be willing to work with unions if elected but differed on how to approach the relationship during a downstate debate that largely focused on pension reform, taxes and just briefly on personal issues that have dogged some of the candidates.

Governor-elect Bruce Rauner says Illinois' financial condition is "stunningly bad'' and it will require "strong action'' to fix it.
