A Springfield man is behind bars after allegedly trying to lure children into his van at a couple of east side locations.

Detectives identified Anthony Sims, 30, at his home and arrested him this week. Police say he tried to lure a girl into the van in the 2200 block of East Cedar, and another child in the 1400 block of East Kansas. Neither child went to him, and both sought help from adults in the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
