Some District 186 Teachers May Be Looking for Work Next Year

Some Springfield District 186 teachers could be looking for work next year.  The Board of Education gave the go-ahead in trimming up to 30 high school teaching positions as the district tries to solve a multi-million dollar deficit.

Board member Mike Zimmers says the district will require teachers to instruct more classes a day—eliminating “collaboration hours” which he says haven’t translated to higher test scores.
