School Board Postpones Vote for New President

Outgoing school board president Chuck Flamini will have to hold the gavel for at least two more weeks.

Interim superintendent Bob Hill and some school board members were not in attendance Monday night to select a replacement.

“I think Lisa (Funderburg) is at a meeting out of state; I think Lopez is not well. Judy is at a family thing.  (And Dr. Hill) is under the weather big time” says Flamini.

Flamini says he will remain on the District 186 board to complete his term.  The next school board meeting is scheduled for May 5th.

The board also discussed the possibility of early dismissal intead late starts one day a week next year for teacher collaboration time but wants more time to seek input from district parents.
