Pope Names Springfield Priest to Wichita Bishop Post

The Springfield Diocese says Pope Francis has named Monsignor Carl Kemme to head up the Catholic Diocese in Wichita, Kansas.Kemme is currently the vicar general.  Bishop Thomas John Paprocki says the Pope’s choice is a wise one.

Kemme has worked in the diocese in different roles for last couple of decades.  He replaces Bishop Michel Jackels who is heading up the Archidocese of Dubuque, Iowa.  Kemme will be introduced in Wichita Thursday.
