Police Say Tractor Driver in Crash was Drunk

A crash between a tractor and a van sent a Petersburg couple to the hospital Monday evening.

State police say the tractor’s driver, Eric Golden of Tallula, was under the influence.

The wreck happened around 8:30 p. m. Monday on Route 97 in Menard County. Police say Golden, pulling a twenty-foot-wide planter, crossed the center line and hit the oncoming van carrying Gregory and Linda Johnston.
