Overnight Car Crash Is Fatal

Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards released the following statement Saturday afternoon:

Jamakya Green, age 18,black female of Springfield was pronounced deceased at 12:50 am this morning by the Coroner’s Office at the scene of a MVA. She was a passenger in a single vehicle accident on East Kansas that occurred around 10:50 pm on 3/21. An autopsy was conducted this afternoon. The preliminary cause of death is consistent with blunt force trauma sustained in the accident. Blood analysis is pending. The Springfield Police Department is investigating the accident.
