O, Christmas Tree: Fare Thee Well

It looked pretty while it lasted but now the needles are probably driving you nuts.

The city of Springfield can take your dying Christmas tree off your hands.  Abby Walford of the Public Works department says all you need to do is strip the tree of all its decorations and haul it out to the curb.  Crews will begin picking up the trees January 8th but are only making one pass through the neighborhoods.

“We come out once and if you didn’t get your tree out in time, call your waste hauler” Walden says.

Walden says they shred the trees and stockpile the mulch for city landscaping projects around the city.
