New Accountability Law for Grants

Governor Pat Quinn has signed a bill setting new rules for state grant applications. The changes are aimed at making those who receive the money more accountable to taxpayers.

A state audit found problems with the way money was used in Quinn’s Neighborhood Recovery Initiative and that’s led Republicans to allege the governor used the program as a way to secure votes.
