County GOP Endorses Dillard

Sangamon County Republican Party chair Rosemarie Long says her party  strongly endorses Dillard in his bid for the GOP gubernatorial nod March 18th and, for good reason.

“We took two polls and the results showed Dillard at least 20-percent over the other candidates and so we finally decided to go ahead and do an endorsement” Long says.

Long says it is not unusual to wait until the closing days of a campaign to give an endorsement.  When it comes to the race for sheriff, she says the party will not endorse either Wes Barr or Undersheriff Jack Campbell.  Long says that race is too close to call.

Gov. Bruce Rauner says one of his priorities for his first year in office will be creating so-called “right to work zones.”
