Minor Fire at Sangamon Tower Tuesday

There were a few scary moments for some residents of Sangamon Tower late Tuesday afternoon.

A fire in an unoccupied apartment started on the 6th floor around 4:30pm but maintenance people were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

The Springfield Fire Department evacuated neighboring residents for a short time.  There were no injuries and just minor smoke damage.
