Man Busted After Foot Chase, Officer Injured

Springfield Police arrested a man after a foot chase on the city’s east side yesterday.  Lynard Joiner Jr. was taken after being chased down by police near 16th and Stuart.  He faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting a police officer, and having no valid FOID card.  The incident occurred after police attempted to make a traffic stop.  One officer suffered a broken finger after falling during the chase.  Three other suspects escaped.
