More details have emerged surrounding the arrest of the mayor of Kincaid in central Illinois.

Douglas Thomas was arrested Thursday on suspicion of violating an order of protection for the second time in recent weeks. According to Christian County Court documents, the 18-year-old ex-boyfriend accused Thomas of trying to hit him with his car. Based on the claim, a protection order was granted February 10th.

Thomas is accused of violating the order by trying to contact the teen. He posted bond and was released Friday. Claiming the teen called him, Thomas also sought a protection order but was denied.

African-American Pastors Endorse Rauner

Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate businessman Bruce Rauner participates in a Republican gubernatorial candidate debate Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, in Springfield, Ill. The four Republican gubernatorial candidates said that they’ll be willing to work with unions if elected but differed on how to approach the relationship during a downstate debate that largely focused on pension reform, taxes and just briefly on personal issues that have dogged some of the candidates.

More than a dozen pastors of predominantly African-American congregations are endorsing the Republican candidate for governor.
