Thursday night’s thunderstorm left water standing in the Dana-Thomas House’s basement so tours are suspended through the weekend.

Staff responded before the storm had ended and worked until dawn to remove the water and protect wood floors and artifacts.

The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency says the Carriage House and Gift Shop will remain open.
